Niagara Sawmilling Delighted with Iseli RZ1

January 29, 2016

After being faced with the proposition of losing a Saw Doctor and not many candidates available, Ken Richardson, Managing Director of Niagara Sawmilling in Invercargill, looked at investing in machinery to fill the gap this would leave. He had been aware that Craig Pine, who are close by, had reduced their Sawshop numbers after getting an RZ-1 and that was his goal.

After settling on the ISELI RZ-1, Fully Automatic CNC Levelling & Tensioning Centre for Bandsaws, and having the machine running for 6 weeks, Ken has found the following

  • Significant reduction in unscheduled saw changes leading to operator confidence.
  • With less saw changes, the saw doctors have more time now to improve other areas.
  • As far as Niagara Sawmilling is concerned, The RZ-1 has increased production by 7.5 – 10%

The RZ1 handles saw widths up to 360mm, lengths up to 14,000mm and thicknesses up to 2mm.It’s ability to level and tension simultaneously on any of the tensioning passes has enabled Sawshops to halve the time to bench bandsaws.

Thode’s Rotorua Branch Manager, Phil Higgins, has had training in Switzerland by Iseli and with his branch operating 2 of these machines; Phil is always available to our customers for training and sales enquiries.
